that sucks…did you take photos of the owner of the burned house? i can’t imagine how much it costs to rebuild in tokyo. in texas we have so much land so its easy to rebuild…we are very spoiled with our land. good luck to the guy who lost his house…in winter time no less.
Chalid is a smart kid. For he looks at the solution instead of the problem. He will have a bright future, probably work for a big corporation.
BTW, how much would a house like that cost in that area?

I don’t know but nomal business man cannot pay that. very expensive.
Why have emphaty when you don’t know the owner, right? Its a shame that many people don’t care about situations that doesn’t inflict them directly. This other day I was on the tram, and there were a fire in a building ahead so the tram stopped to let the firetruck through. Smoke was coming out the windows and all, but most people cared more about them getting home a few minutes late.
(I must admit that Im often that way myself)
Asian people are good with cameras that is for sure … thanks again but no middle finger 🙁
Well, I guess anywhere in the world, when there’s a fire people will gather, neighbours will talk, people passing by will stop and take a look, people is basically the same everywhere.

Yes, I think so either.
Masa, the burnt house, it looks like it is made with timber. Are all those houses made with wood or do they use bricks? In England, houses in town are built with brick to stop the fire spreading. They don’t care in Tokyo?

It’s interesting. Of course building use brik. but Using wood is still popular for house. England people must be smart.
well…that sucks…the kid was cute though…

Do you have fire insurance in Japan?
===========================from MasaManiA
Of course we have insurance, and heavy insuarance sales presentation also !!
In Kyoto all the houses are wood so when I lived there we had 1 bucket of water to sit out the front door in summer when it’s very hot.
I wondered “Why 1 bucket, how can I put out a fire with 1 bucket?” but then I saw all the neighbours had 1 bucket of water, so if we all joined our buckets we could put out a fire by passing the buckets in a line.
But my neighbours hated me and tried to kill my bicycle and I said “If there is a fire, I will NOT pass a bucket!”
